We decided to go with MineBuster a game inwhich the player would have to mine resources based on a randomly generated objectives list. The camera's postion would be top down and the user would sell the resources they had gathered to buy upgrades in a shop. As well as progress to the next level.
Now that we had our Idea we had to create a graphic user interface to support this.
We ended up going with a minimizlistic but functional interface. Everything was out of the way so that the player could clearly see the map their character would be playing on. See the photos to the right for the diagrams.
Later in the projects development we had a string of programming constraints that forced us to change our design a lot. Mid way through we redesigned the interface to be a lot more basic. The updated design is also in the gallery to the right, click show more.
